Dear Student,

Please note that if you have an extension for Assignment 3, you are still required to e-submit your assignment rather than emailing it to your lecturer or the unit coordinator. Please refer to submission instructions in recent Announcements (20/10/08, 7/11/08) on how to do this.

EDUC193/293 UPDATE assignment 3 submission 7/11/08

Subject: ASSIGNMENT 3 SUBMISSION UPDATE

From: Andrew Simpson

Date: 7/11/2008 14:07

Message:

This message only affects those students who have decided to post their hardcopy of Part 1 Assignment 3. If you have e-submitted both parts of the assignment, ignore this email/message

Unfortunately the information provided in my earlier announcement regarding submission of Assignment 3 was incorrect. Please read the following updated instructions.

If you have posted Part A of Assignment 3 it will be acknowledged as your submission for Assignment 3.2 when it arrives at UNE. If you now need to e-submit Part B, e-submit this as Assignment 3.

I am very sorry for this and for any confusion/angst I may have caused.

Subject: Assignment 3 Submissions

From: Andrew Simpson

Date: 7/11/2008 10:34

Message:

Dear EDUC 193/293 Students,

This message only affects those students who have decided to post their hardcopy of Part 1 Assignment 3. If you have e-submitted both parts of the assignment, ignore this email/message.

Some students who have posted Part A of Assignment 3 have then not been able to e-submit Part B. This is because the system was set to only allow one submission per student for the whole assignment. We have now changed this to allow two submissions: Assignment 3 and assignment 3.2. If you have posted Part A it will be acknowledged as your submission for Assignment 3 when it arrives at UNE. If you now need to e-submit Part B, e-submit this as Assignment 3.2.

You are reminded that your e-submissions for Assignment 3 are due by 11:59pm today. When you e-submit successfully you should receive a receipt; please retain this receipt.

Regards Andrew Simpson

Subject: Di Hansford on Study Leave

From: Diane Hansford

Date: 2/11/2008 09:25

Message:

Dear Students, As of Monday 3 November, I will be on Study Leave and I will not be able to be contacted via email, so for the remainder of this semester please contact Andrew Simpson on for any queries about this unit. For any issues relating to extensions or grades, then he is the person to deal with this. Any emails that I have received up to today will either be passed on to Andrew or I will reply, but from here on, please email Andrew directly. I would like to thank Andrew for helping out with the co-ordination of the unit for these last few weeks. Finally, I would like to wish you well in your last assignment and look forward to teaching many of you in the coming years. Those of you for whom this is your final unit, we hope that it has provided you with a practical basis for teaching literacy, and in particular, reading. Our teaching team has worked hard over the past semester to make this unit interesting and a positive learning experience for you. We know that we can improve the learning design for next year and have already begun to do this, but your constructive evaluations will help us to identify additional areas that need changing. External students should have received an email by now asking you to complete an evaluation online and Internals have already completed this during our final lecture on Thursday of this week. We will take your comments into consideration when we develop the unit for 2009. I would like to thank the lecturers: Rachael Adlington; Madeline Fussell; Gudrun Keller; Kim Porter; and Andrew Simpson who have worked tirelessly throughout this semester. Good luck with your studies in years to come and enjoy being an EXCELLENT READING TEACHERS! Di

Dear Students, The assignment results for Assignment 2 and Assignment 3 will not be added to the SAKAI unit Gradebook, as there are some technical issues that will make this difficult. Therefore, the grade for your Online Test will be transferred to our master copy of your results and you will get your grade for Assignment 2 and Assignment 3 when these are returned to you after marking.
